Gabbar Singh Will Open My Account

Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan made Tollywood debut this year with Anaganaga O Dheerudu which was one of the biggest disasters of the year. She was later seen in Oh My Friend, which was a disappointment. She had another release in the form of 7th Sense, which also ended up as a damp squib.

Shruti Haasan is under pressure now to deliver a hit as people are already talking negative about her presence. They are branding her as iron leg and Shruti has to shut the critics mouth with a solid hit. She is pretty sure that Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh movie to do the honors for her. She has been saying that her time would start with this movie.

Shruti's next release in Tamil is 3 starring Dhanush and this film needs no introduction except for saying that 'Kolaveri' song is from it. So the symptoms prove that Shruti's clock is going to tick big in the coming year. Even Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar promises a blockbuster to Power fans.

What Makes Pawan So Special

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is one hero who has created a mark of his own in the Industry. There are certain comments we hear way too often that the success rate of Pawan's films at the box office remains dismally low. But Pawan Kalyan is still the best, despite having a low success rate. Read the story below...

Take a look at the entire film career of Pawan Kalyan. Most of his films were with debutant/struggling directors(EVV, Mutyala Subbaiah, Bheemaneni Srinivas, Karunakaran, Puri Jagannath, SJ Surya, Veera Shankar, Dharani, Jayanth, Vishnuvardhan). Trivikram is the only hotshot director who teamed up with Pawan Kalyan till date. Even, Pawan's upcoming film 'Gabbar Singh' is with Harish Shankar who is not a big name in the Industry. Is Pawan Kalyan not capable of attracting the top filmmakers? Note that, almost every Star Director in Tollywood has a hidden desire in them to direct Pawan Kalyan. Even Today, they wait for the nod from Powerstar.

We have many heroes who run after the success and allot their call sheets to the Top League directors, even before having a look at the script. But, Pawan Kalyan is the only hero who has followed his own chosen path. Which other hero in the Industry has the dare to say that "I never asked anyone to direct me" when Rajamouli is in the picture?

Success and Failure is part and parcel of life. The only thing that lasts is 'What you are as a Person'. In this way, Pawan Kalyan is far away from anyone's reach. So make way for Powerstar, irrespective of whatever he does!!!

NTR "Nandiswarudu"

When Nandamuri Taraka Ratna asked to address him as NTR in short, media thought that he may not be serious about it. However, Tarak is pretty serious about it. He is putting NTR stamp all over Nandiswarudu posters and forcing media to address it as NTR's film.

Although he is hell bent on tagging himself as NTR, he is definitely aware of his image in public. Tarak knows that people wouldn't dare to come to the theaters looking at him on the posters. So, he is using Jagapathi Babu's face to sell this film off. Jagapathi Babu is playing a special character in this film which wouldn't have more than 30 minutes of screen time.

Even then Jagapathi Babu is being highlighted on Nandiswarudu posters. In few posters Taraka Ratna is not even seen at all. This clearly indicates that NTR is not confident enough to pull off this film on his own shoulders. So much is being spent on the publicity of this film. Will Tarak bag that much needed hit after all these gimmicks? Only time will tell.

Balayya Not In Sankranthi Race 2012

It has been more like a tradition for Nandamuri Balakrishna to arrive with his films during Sankranthi festival. Most of the times, he has ended up scoring big blockbuster hits around that time. However, it is now heard that Balayya will not be part of the race during Sankranthi 2012.

Reports say that the film 'Adhinayakudu' which has Balayya in three roles has been postponed. Apparently, the film was due for Sankranthi release but now it is heard that the film would be released only in February. While the reasons for that are unknown, this move has surprised many Nandamuri fans.

'Adhinayakudu' is slated to be a high voltage action entertainer with political backdrop. This is being directed by Paruchuri Murali and it has the luscious seductress Lakshmi Rai along with the sensuous Saloni as the leading ladies. The music is by Kalyani Malik. For now, reactions are awaited on 'Adhinayakudu's postponement.

Ramcharan follows Mahesh babu

Ram Charan is one of the heroes who are seriously looking to expand their business frontiers. He tried to do that for Orange, but backed out due to delay in Magadheera release in Tamil and Malayalam. This time he is making sure that his next movie Racha to release in Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously with Telugu version.

Racha is being made with high technical values and making standards. It has mind blowing action sequences apart from thumping music, say sources. Ram Charan himself is taking care of the Tamil and Malayalam releases as he doesn't want to repeat the mistakes from the past.

Mahesh Babu is already doing this for Businessman which would release on the same day in Telugu and Malayalam and releases in Tamil after a couple of weeks. There are other heroes like Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Ram and Rana that are planning to release their next movies in Tamil and Malayalam besides Telugu.

Mahesh Babu Nothing Before NTR?

The bonding between fans and their heroes is something interesting. Most of the times, it is about the fans seeing themselves onscreen through their heroes. That is why stars like Pawan Kalyan, Junior NTR tend to have such a strong following. However, the case with Mahesh is different.

The cine intellectuals say "Frankly speaking, Mahesh is too classy or glamorous for the regular frontbencher to get connected. But here is the twist. The success of 'Pokiri' happened not just because of Mahesh but because of the Puri Jagannadh packaging power and the other artists as well."

They add "Something similar happened with 'Dookudu'. If it was not for the contribution from Srinu Vytla, M S Narayana, Brahmi then the outcome would have been different. So today, Junior NTR is dabbling with films like 'Shakti' 'Kantri' 'Oosaravelli' for the wrong reasons. If he gets the right kind of director who can mould him then there will be a totally new comparative analysis that will come between Junior and Mahesh."

Ntr's Dammu Highlights

Young tiger NTR is back in his comfort zone.We are talking about his upcoming film 'Dammu', under the direction of hat-trick director Boyapati Seenu. NTR is known for his high votage action entertainers. Over the past few years, NTR tried to re-invent himself by choosing diverse roles which would cater for a wide range of audience. But for Dammu, the young actor has decided to stick to the basics. This film will remind us of NTR during the days of 'Aadi' and 'Simhadri'.

NTR's Dammu Highlights:

1. NTR's Dual Role - NTR is one actor who can get into the skin of any character with ease. His track record is proof to this statement. In Dammu, NTR is playing dual role and the best part is that, both these roles were highly powerful and entertaining at the same time.

2. Sister Sentiment - The combination scenes of NTR and Abhinaya (Raviteja's sister in 'Shambo Shiva Shambo') will touch your heart and they are said to be the major highlight of the film.

3. MM Keeravani's Songs - The songs composed by Keeravani for Dammu were already creating a positive buzz around the film. According to the insiders, Keeravani has never given such energetic songs in his career. Of course, NTR's dance moves will take them to the next level for sure!

4. High Voltage Action Sequences - When you think about Director Boyapati, the first thing that comes to your mind is his action sequences. You just can't imagine a Boyapati film sans action. He has a unique way of designing action sequences and Dammu is no exception. The spine-chilling action episodes in the film will keep you on the edge of the seats.

5. Dialogues - We all knew, what kind of an impact NTR could generate with his terrific base voice, dialogue delivery and diction. There is talk in the Industry that 'NTR Is One Of The Best' as far as dialogue delivery is concerned. But after the release of Dammu, no one could deny that 'He Is The Best'.

Already, Dammu is carrying a huge positive buzz all over. So Guys, get ready to have a blast this Summer - Any Doubts!!

Mahesh Competes With Allu Arjun

If you have any doubts, read this story! Mahesh Babu might rule the Overseas Box Office, but Allu Arjun is still ahead of him and giving a tough fight to him in some of the territories in India itself. Kerala and Karnataka are Allu Arjun's strongholds. The actor enjoys a huge fan base in both these territories, which is on par with the local star heroes of those Industries. Even his previous film 'Badrinath' raked in profits in Kerala and Karnataka, despite the negative talk.

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu is yet to make a mark of his own in Kerala. Though he enjoys a considerable amount of popularity in Karnataka, Mahesh is still behind Allu Arjun. The idea of releasing the Tamil and Malayalam version of 'Businessman' simultaneously along with the Telugu original, is an attempt to increase his market. He even directed the makers of the film  to go for a massive release in Karnataka. Overall, 'Businessman' would be a test for Mahesh's ability to cross boundaries.

Mahesh Babu, who is one of the most desirable men in the country, is at the crucial juncture of his film career. Though Mahesh has got everything to connect with the audience of all sections irrespective of the regions and languages, he just need that wee bit of luck to get over the line. He is one hero in Tollywood, who could even make Bollywood heroes to stand on their toes. Let's hope he will start his dream run in other Industries too!

Kshetram :Movie Review

The family drama shot in two countries is expected to strike an emotional chord with the audience. The Kshetram movie  story shuffles between India and Malaysia and has a powerful theme of Diaspora problems. Jagapathi Babu  appeared in a flick after a long gap and his maturity will add wonders to the film along with Priyamani's charm. Kota Srinivasa Rao and Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam are also played prominent roles in the film. T. Venugopal directed the movie that is produced by G. Govindaraju under the Sri Balaji Movie Makers banner. Koti composed the music and the songs from the flick are already doing the rounds in the market.

Narasimha Rayalu (Jagapathi Babu) and Lakshmi (Priyamani) dies in the hands of their own people (Aditya Menon, Kota Srinivasa Rao) when they try to bring Lord Lakshmi Narasimha's idol from forest to the temple. If they do so, the trust money would be distributed to the poor people in that area. So Narasimha and Lakshmi are killed and Lakshmi's soul lingers around until Sohani (Priyamani) comes to marry Chakri (Shyam), who is the reincarnated form of Narasimha. Lakshmi's soul gets into Sohani and fulfills her husband desire by killing all the evildoers.

Analysis:
The plot of this movie is good enough to be a commercial film which would work with the masses. However, the bad execution has been the biggest flaw. Screenplay of the film is absolutely pathetic. Director failed to bring out the right emotions in many scenes.

Most part of the film looks like a television serial with bad shot making and poor production values. Even the presence of Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani didn't help much. Their characters are badly written and the worst part is Jagapathi Babu looked out of place in this movie.

His so called powerful dialogues ended up as comedic stuff and Priyamani really didn't get a chance to lift the spirits up. Climax is hurried and absolute nonsense after all the unnecessary build up that is given until then.

Performances:
Priyamani is just Okay and Jagapathi Babu looked weak in a powerful role. Aditya Menon is regular and Kota is routine. Rajiv Kanakala is wasted and Brahmanandam is seen in a couple of scenes. Tanikella Bharani is surprisingly loud in this movie. There are so many actors in Kshetram and none of them really made any impact.

Technicalities:
Dialogues are average and lyrics are in sync with the theme. Songs are pretty bad and background music is not up to the mark. Cinematography and Editing have nothing to talk about.

Director Venu Gopal tried to imitate Arundhati and Chandramukhi, which is definitely not needed for this film. He didn't even succeed in getting 10% out of those films. His inability in narrating the story is evident throughout the film. He failed to bring out the right emotions in very important scenes. Climax scenes are enough to highlight his weaknesses as a director. An able director could have made this film work.

Poolarangadu Suffers

As audio of Sunils Poola Rangadu will be launched on January 6, clearing the decks for festival release amidst other films coming from big artistes and big banners. The comedian turned hero has completed the metamorphosis by taking acute body care to look like a hero and the news of audio release confirms that producers are serious on the release date during Sankranti. Inner sources say, both Poola Rangadu and Businessman being produced on same banner by almost the same team of producers, more of concentration and attention is reserved by makers on Mahesh Babu rather than Sunils flick. In simple, poola ranagdu is overlooked as Venkat, Atchi Reddy are fighting with number of theatres to be hoarded for Businessman. With this kind of dual releases from same Production House going to affect the business of any one of the films run will be known only after January 14. Let us wish that, Sunil will not suffer at the behest of Mahesh.

Star Hero's wife charges Rs 15 lakhs per 30 min

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's wife Gauri is the women in focus. Even though Gauri Khan is not an actress, she is paid around Rs 15 lakhs for gracing an event for about half an hour.

According to the sources, Gauri Khan keeps herself available for the high profile events and doesn't like to miss an oppourtunity to cash in on the craze.

"Shahrukh is a huge star with a massive fan base and boasts of a huge brand value. Gauri Khan who is one of hottest celebrity wives in the country is using SRK's popularity to the fullest. With the tag of Shahrukh's wife, she has built her own brand," said a source of an Event Management Company.

Recently, the German car company Volkswagen gifted its most expensive car sold in India, Phaeton, to Gauri Khan at a high-profile party organised by the car maker.

Tollywood Director's Having Tough Time In 2012

The year 2011 has come to an end and the Tollywood circuit is gearing up to take on 2012 with more success. However, there are few individuals who are currently under the scanner and many are waiting to see how they are going to make up for their fallen graphs in the coming year.

These are the directors who showed a lot of promise. Notable among them are V V Vinayak, Teja, Meher Ramesh, Surendar Reddy, YVS Chowdary, Gunasekhar etc. Apparently, each of them is crowned with some of the biggest flops in Tollywood circuit. So, what are their plans to compensate is the topic.

As such, the trend of film making is changing and new avenues are being worked. On the other hand, constraints like budget, censor issues and varying demand of the audience has also contributed in a big way. Given the material all these directors have, let us hope they work something out and get Tollywood to a profit zone in 2012.

Pongal Releases 2012

It was quantity not quality war for some time now in Tollywood. The number of prints and number of theatres became the measure to decide fate of any new film, which is decided just after the first show - if you go by the trend. This Sankranti is heading for a real feast with a good number of pictures of top stars and banners coming up with high number of prints and more number of theatres like nothing before.

From the very first shot itself, Businessman has been in news and as if to remind the director and lead actor of the deadline. With Dookudu ending the drought of successful straight films, Businessman pot was kept boiling up to audio and beyond till the release. Mahesh-Puri combination is back for pongal. Whether they recreate Pokiri magic will be known in a couple of weeks time.

Venkatesh, who is slowly switching to mature roles with his home production promoting Rana for younger roles, is appearing as Bodyguard, the remake of a Malayalam film of the same name. The Tamil and Hindi versions being superb hits, Venkatesh playing the title role with Trisha in this romantic action movie is obviously so confident of bagging big success. Venkatesh played the role of Police Commissioner in Eenadu, a remake of A Wednesday and was not very convincing, though he was good in patches.

Next to come is Raviteja with his unique and rustic style looks good to a section of audience. He is coming with Nippu in Sankranti chill. The film is in post production stage and buzz is that it will catch up with festive deadline. The film has Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam and others in cast with SS Thaman scoring the music and Gunasekhar directing the film produced by YVS Chowdary.

Sunil has graduated from comedian to a hero. Now he is coming as Poola Rangadu where in Isha Chawla is playing female lead. The film which began in August is almost complete. Veerabhadram Chowdary is directing the film produced by Atchi Reddy.

With lot of uncertainty and a number of equations working in tandem nothing is certain in Tollywood for these big guns. Some more films may be added to the list or one or two may be rescheduled or dropped even. Anyway, wish that this festival will have for sure a good fare.

Top Heroes Of Tollywood Are Scared

New comers are always challenging these days with their multitude of talents. This is truly affecting the stamina of aged heroes at the Box Office. The primary commercial element for a Telugu movie is 'song' and in turn 'dance'. Our heroes are tumbling here!
Other than Allu Arjun, Jr.NTR and RamCharan, rest of the bunch of Telugu heroes are good dancers but not exceptional. Sankranthi comers, Venky, Mahesh and Raviteja are all some good movers on the floor but not quite good dancers. Audiences always see the same steps repeated by these top heroes, with choreographers too doing nothing new. However comedian-turned-hero Sunil is an exception and even with his flabby body he matched the steps of Megastar in few comedy scenes.
Sunil's timing and talent in dances is proved with MARYADA RAMANNA. Sources are saying that even in his upcoming Sankranthi bonanza POOLA RANGADU, Sunil rocked the dance floors. If Sunil puts up an extraordinary dance show, then there is no doubt our heroes will afraid of their BO collections, is a talk in Film Nagar. Let us wait and see!

Ramcharan's Yevadu Story

It is known news that mega powerstar Ramcharan Tej has signed a new project and this has been titled as 'Yevadu'. This is being directed by Vamsi Paidipally while Dil Raju is the producer. On the other hand, the lovely smile beauty Samantha is the leading lady while Allu Arjun is doing an important cameo.

Since the time the project was announced, strong attempts were happening to know the story and here is an update. It is heard that this is going to be an action flick and Cherry would be seen in the role of an honest cop. Buzz is that Bunny's cameo is also that of a cop who gets killed fighting the villains.

The story takes a twist when Bunny's brain gets transplanted to Cherry through a modern technology. With that, Cherry gets into the revenge mode and wipes out the baddies, as per sources. While it is not sure how true this is, but if it is then the makers should come up with something very convincing and reasonable for audience to connect.

One Man Army

He has been known as one of the promising directors of Tollywood but over the recent few years, his films turned out to be major duds. After going into hiding for a while, he is now back and is currently busy with a production venture. He is none other than Y V S Chowdary.

Currently, YVS is busy with the making of his new movie 'Nippu' starring Ravi Teja but here is another update. It is heard that YVS has gone ahead and registered a title at the film chamber. The name is 'Evari Mata Vinadu'. This has got many in Tollywood to wonder as to who would be the lead in this.

Inside talk is that this is slated to be an action entertainer and the title happens to be the tagline of his earlier ventures Seethayya. On the other hand, YVS is also busy with the Rey, launch project of Sai Dharam Tej, nephew of megastar Chiranjeevi. Let us wait to see if his comeback would be with a bang or not.

Shradda Das Injured

If there is a Hrithik Roshan in Bollywood who is accident prone then there is someone in Tollywood also in the same league. This is none other than Shraddha Das. Yes, the sex bomb actress who is known for her splendid figure has been going through a spate of accidents lately.

Incidentally, all this is happening to Shraddha in her ongoing project 'Rey'. Just recently, it was reported that Shraddha had met with an accident that injured her eye. Though she took rest and got back to the shooting, another update has arrived from Bangkok.

Sources say a huge light cutter fell on Shraddha's head while she was working and this resulted in a big lump on her head. Buzz is that the pretty girl was attended to immediately and after few hours, she got back to work. Though Shraddha has been managing to keep pace with the shooting, her admirers are hoping she stays safe.

Bollywood Star Following Balayya

Nandamuri Balakrishna has always been the darling of the masses and his power packed dialogues have been solid ammunition for commercial audience. However, there are those who say that the dialogues that are rolled out by Balayya, they only suit him and no other hero can deliver that punch.

But now, one hero seems to be taking up that challenge and he is a big name in Bollywood. He is the deadly Sanjay Dutt and news is that he is all set to step into the shoes of Balayya. News is that the film 'Lakshmi Narasimha' which scored a major hit in Telugu is now being remade into Hindi.

Sources say director K S Ravikumar has decided to take the film to Bollywood and the project is titled tentatively as 'Thanedaar Returns'. There is also news that Anirudh Ravichander who composed the chartbuster song 'Why this kolaveri di..' has been roped in for composing the music. This should be interesting.

Gabbar Singh Special

Power star Pawan Kalyan who has been known for raging blockbusters has not been able to score the same power in the recent past at the box office. Now, it is heard that since his recent release 'Panjaa' became a dud, a lot is happening on his ongoing project 'Gabbar Singh'.

The fact that this is the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg' has brought a familiarity aspect. So, inside sources say the film is now going through some major rework process in terms of script. Buzz is that the focus is on etching it which suits the image of Pawan Kalyan and develop more nativity.

This is directed by Harish Shankar and a new schedule is planned in Hyderabad. Unit members say that the storyline is similar to 'Dabangg' but then enough work has now happened on the script so one cannot really feel it is a remake. Well, as long as the film scores a hit, the changes and reworks should not matter.

Feast to Mega Fans

The year 2011 wasn't a great one for the Mega fans, as none of their heroes films have ended up breaking records at the Box Office, despite thumping openings. Pawan Kalyan's 'Teen Maar', 'Panjaa' and Allu Arjun's Badrinath failed to register a big hit, leaving the fans in distress. But they have something to cheer up now, as the Mega treat is on its way.

"Jan 1st 2012 will have a treat for Mega fans, stay tuned for the details," tweeted Sreenivas, Ram Charan's PR.

According to the reliable sources, the first look poster and teaser of Ram Charan's upcoming film 'Racha' would be released on that day. The reports say, Racha has shaped up really well and the makers are confident about the success of the film. Ram Charan has been paired opposite milk white beauty Tamanna for the first time in this film, which is being directed by Sampath Nandi ('Yemaindhi Ee Vela' fame). Music is by Manisharma and the film is produced by RB Chowdary under Mega Super Good films banner.

Racha has many highlights - Ram Charan's characterization (Reminds us of Chiru in Gang Leader), Rs 2 crore fight sequence picturised in China (First Of Its Kind on Telugu Screen), Gang Leader remix song Vaana Vaana Velluvaye (Better Than The Original), Brahmi-Venu Madhav-Ravi Babu's comedy track (Hilariously Entertaining) and Charan's dances (Energetic and Innovative) are few of them. After the disastrous result of Orange, Charan has taken extra care for 'Racha' to please his fans. The film which is touted to be a full blown commercial action entertainer will hit the screens in the first week of February.

Tough Competition For Mahesh's Businessman

First week collections prove to be crucial for any movie these days. Star heroes films are solely dependent on the first week collections irrespective of the end result. That is why no one is compromising on it and the producers are making mutual agreements over avoiding release clashes.

Pongal is the only exception until now for releasing good number of big films at a time. However, in the days when only first week collections decide the fate of a film, even a Pongal clash would certainly do some damage! Mahesh Babu's previous film Dookudu made use of no competition season and raked in huge profits out of it.

Businessman is not going to have such free space though. Bodyguard and Nippu are the films that would compete with it. So much is riding on Businessman and the competition has been a worrying factor for the producers of this film. Hence they are planning to release this film a week early to the actual scheduled date, Jan 11, to have a full week's advantage before Bodyguard hits the screens. Nothing is confirmed yet. Stay tuned for the official update.

Ravi Babu's Role In Rachaa

Mega powerstar Ramcharan Tej is currently busy with the shaping up of his new movie 'Racha' and the film has reached the final stages of its making. Now, inside talk is emerging about the film and it is heard that this has shaped up very well. And an interesting highlight is now being revealed.

Sources say that the film has got a special highlight role. This is being essayed by Allari Ravi Babu and it is heard that he has come up with a wholesome comedy riot. As such, Ravi Babu has got a towering and scary personality so seeing him doing comedy always strikes unusual but still he has always scored well.

Recently, Ravi Babu is seen in the new movie 'Nuvvila' as an inspector and he got accolades from audience. With Ramcharan Tej for adrenaline, Tamannah for glamour and Ravi Babu for comedy, 'Racha' seems to be shaping up to score a big hit. This should be good news for mega fans.

Prabha's Rebel In Trouble

Choreographer turned director Lawrence is living up to his upcoming film's title and showing 'rebel'lious nature on the sets of Rebel, says the gossip winery. Lawrence's monarchism is troubling the schedules of Rebel that it has been already lagging behind the actual schedule.

Right from the day of launch, Lawrence has been throwing tantrums at Rebel producers and creating fuss over trivial issues says the gossip corners. Irked by the delayed shoots and dates being wasted, Anushka walked out of the film.

Even Prabhas lost his cool and started working on Varadhi movie, which is okayed at the eleventh hour. Prabhas is in a hurry to finish off two films before he takes up Rajamouli's film. Prabhas will have to give more than a year for Rajamouli's movie and therefore he is doing more movies prior to that. But Lawrence's attitude is troubling the Rebelstar that he isn't happy with the way his time is being wasted on Rebel.

Pawan Fights AS

Power star Pawan Kalyan is currently busy with the shooting of his film 'Gabbar Singh' and this it the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg'. If one can recall, the original had Salman Khan getting into a wrestling fight of sorts with the villain Sonu Sood in the climax.

Since then, many in Tollywood have been discussing on how the climax fight in 'Gabbar Singh' would be. Obviously, they are not expecting Pawan to take off his shirt. While that is one side, here is another version. So far, it was heard that Sonu Sood is reprising his role in the Telugu version as well.

But the latest update is that it is not Sonu Sood but Abhimanyu Singh who is the villain. Abhimanyu sent a shiver down the spine of many with his role as Bukka Reddy in 'Rakta Charitra'. Now, it is heard that he would be seen getting into a fight with Pawan in the climax. This should be interesting.

Dhanush's 3 Movie Audio Release

The Most Awaited Film of Dhanush

Allu Arjun is Back

Allu Arjun had once enjoyed the best success rate among the young heroes. But he experienced a string of failures after Parugu, in which his choice of scripts also played a vital role. Varudu and Badrinath are tad silly films that Allu Arjun never did such films in the early days of his career.

He tried for immediate rise in the mass following and the results were bad. Doing experimental films like Vedam and Arya 2 too didn't help him much. Both the films tanked at the box office. It has been three and a half years since Allu Arjun tasted success by now.
Bunny realized his mistake and is back in 'safe mode' again. In the early days of his career, he used to do one film at a time. He is planning to do the same from now on. Arjun also used to bank on salable scripts than on unnecessary masala movies. He is going to repeat the same starting from Trivikram's film it seems.

Gabbar Singh Music Sessions

Director Harish is leaving no stone left to make GB a huge hit

Gabbar Singh Villian

Abhimanyu Singh has replaced Sonu Sood who was initially supposed to reprise his role of Chhedi Singh in the Telugu remake of Dabangg. Titled Gabbar Singh, the film is slated for an April release. Sonu, who also dropped out of the Dabangg sequel announced this year, had starred in the Tamil remake of the 2010-blockbuster.

Director Harish Shankar admits he had considered Sonu for Gabbar Singh but zeroed in on Abhimanyu for the role because he wanted a fresh face for Chhedi Singh.

"Sonu has recently worked in the Tamil version of Dabangg. He is a good friend and he isn't offended by my decision."

"The director liked my work in Rakta Charitra. He showed the stills to actor Pawan Kalyan, who plays the lead in Gabbar Singh. He was impressed and offered the role to me. The money was transferred to my account even without me meeting the producer," beams Abhimanyu, adding, "We have wrapped up two schedules of the film already."

Gabbar Singh has been shot in Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Wai near Panchgani in Maharashtra where the market scenes of Salman Khan's original were shot.

"Director Harish Shankar has given new dimensions to the role. It's much stronger than Sonu's part in the original," points out Abhimanyu.

Rana in Kollywood

Among the generation of young heroes, the graph of Daggubati Rana has been strong. Though he has not scored a concrete success, he made his presence felt expansively. He is already one film old in Bollywood and is on the verge of completing another one. Soon, he will open his account in Kollywood too.

The analysts say "Rana charges Rs 3 crores as remuneration and this is actually a very good start considering his success at box office. The key factor this is the Looks, Hype and Gossips that Rana is surrounded which has created a profile for him. But then that alone is not enough for a long term survival."

They add "What Rana must work on is performance. He needs to unveil the actor in him and score more on performance front than the LHG factor. Some said he was not good in 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' but no, he gave a sincere effort. Now that he has fallen in the hands of Ram Gopal Varma for 'Department', it should have brushed his skills. Let us see what happens."

Kajal Helping Nisha

She is two films old, but still there is 'solid' step for her career. She is none other than dazzling beauty Nisha Agarwal. Have a look at the efforts that are being done by her 'akka' to setup a base for her.

Kajal Agarwal, the sexy sister of Nisha is trying all ways possible to promote her younger sister. The other day, Kajal came to the audio launch of BUSINESSMAN along with her sister Nisha. Insiders revealed that she is giving all suggestions to her sister to become a feed for news. As Nisha is unable to cash on the success of SOLO and YEMAINDI EE VELA, she is badly in need of a 'publicity gimmick'.

One thing to be noted is, more than glamour Nisha needs to know that she is a dud in performance unlike Kajal, who scores few brownie points there. On the other hand, Kajal is trying hard to setup her 'chelli' in Tollywood's sought-after books.

Samantha and Tammana

If the Top league actors are of the opinion that they can easily walk-out of the projects whenever they intend to, then they are surely just inviting trouble. A-list heroines Samantha and Tamanna are best example to this case.

We are aware that producer Bellankonda Suresh filed a complaint against Samantha in Producers Council and Movie Artists Association (MAA) for violating the agreement. Samantha signed on the dotted line narrated by director Nadini Reddy ('Ala Modalaindi' fame). She took the advance amount in march from Bellankonda Suresh and assured that she will allot her call sheets in August and September for the film which has Siddharth in the lead. However, She now informed to the producer that she has decided to walk-out of the projects as the dates were already allotted to Mahesh's film 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'."

The co-ordination committee comprising 10 members has given strong warning to Samantha for violating the agreement and asked the actress to stick to her word given to the producer, while signing the agreement.

"Samantha claimed that she has walked out of the project as lot of changes were being made to the script. But, the committee is not convinced with her version. And also stalling the film could affect the career of Director Nandini Reddy, as this is just her second film. We have ordered Samantha to allot fresh dates for Bellankonda Suresh's film early next year," said a member of the committee.

On the other hand, Tamanna landed herself in trouble by signing three films without having the dates to spare.

"Tamanna was asked to submit her call sheets diary to the committee. Now, the dates will be prioritised and will be allotted to films which are near to the completion. Racha, Endukante Premanta and Rebel with the order of the priority list. We have ordered her not to sign any new film, unless the shooting of these three films got wrapped up," adds the member.

So ladies, the next time you promise to do something for someone, regardless of how unimportant the person might be to you, DO IT.

Jr ntr Condition To Srinu Vytla

It is a common thing to see that when a film scores a hit, a dozen films come out in the same pattern. Despite flops, the herd mentality doesn't change. Now it appears that even a big hero like Jr NTR is no exception.

Sources reveal that Junior has put a condition to director Srinu Vytla for their new project. He wants a script like 'Dookudu' and is more of a laughter riot.

Incidentally, Junior is keen on spreading his fan base beyond youth and mass audience hence the attempt. But there are those who say given NTR's strength in action films this looks a bit unusual. Let us see how this goes.

Thaman's Magic

The world of music is often challenging given the number of talented musicians and the need to come up with something creative at all times. And things get even more challenging if it is the film industry and films which involve big heroes. But one man has taken up the challenge and he is proving his mettle.

He is none other than S S Thaman and he is now being called 'Yes Yes' Thaman for the kind of success he is scoring with his tunes. The public talk is "Most of the time, the first feel of Thaman's music gets negative feedback but in the second hearing, his real power comes out."

They add "But in the case of 'Businessman' the story is different. From the first time, the songs are superb in first listening itself. It will be a blockbuster audio if the film hits." For now, two tracks have got into the chartbuster list and with the audio releasing into the market, let us see wait and see how Thaman scores this time.

Herione In Demand

She acted in more than 50 films and never had any recognition in the film industries. Despite being a hot model, a show hostess and a ravishing actress, Swetha Menon waited for a long time to come into lime light.

After winning a state award for Best Actress in Kerala for 2009 flick 'Paleri Manikyam', Swetha Menon is the most sought after actress there. Recently, her hit Malayalam flick RATHI NIRVEDAM got released in Telugu and won her a fan base. For her sexy looks and oozing assets, youth are going cray while going wild in their dreams. However, this is not the side to look her for and there is another dimension in her.

The sex-goddess lady played a power-packed performance in Nagarjuna's latest release RAJANNA. With her arrogant looks and tyrannous attitude, Swetha Menon fits the bill of a 'Dorasani' perfectly. She can be one of the promising villains or character artists, if she can turn these accolades to a next level.

Businessman to Collect 150 Crores

Mahesh Babu in real life is like the character he played in Dookudu movie. In Dookudu, the protagonist does everything to keep his father happy. He creates false atmosphere and fakes everything to see 'Tandri kallallo anandam'. Mahesh does the same to make Krishna happy in real life.

Krishna has a habit of predicting the total collections of his son's film prior to its release and Mahesh Babu does everything to prove his father's predictions right. It all started with Pokiri, for which Krishna predicted 40 crore collections and luckily it did (almost) reach that figure. Then Krishna told the same for Athidi and Mahesh tried to fake that film's collections to prove his father right.

Recently Dookudu makers along with Mahesh made Krishna happy by stating that this film collected 100 crores as the ex superstar predicted. Now Krishna has set 150 crores 'benchmark' for 'Businessman'. He says this film would collect that much from all the three languages (Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam). Don't be wondered if the records of Businessman surpass 150 crore mark.

.

Story:

A sequel tale, the story begins with Don (SRK) surrendering himself at Malaysia Interpol to Roma (Priyanka) and her boss (Om Puri). But there is a reason behind that. Don wants to get in touch with his old rival Vardhan (Boman) who is in the jail and hatch a plot. The mission is to extract the plates that print currency in the prestigious DCB bank in Germany. Both manage to escape from the prison and reach Germany. For the mission, Don takes the help of hacker (Kunal) and hitman Abdul Jabbar (Nawab Shah) along with Vardhan. However, there is a twist in the plot. Whether Don manages to succeed this time or not forms the rest of the story.

Artist performances:

Shahrukh Khan has come up with an impressive performance and he carries it off with good style and mannerism. Priyanka Chopra was good and she has a reserved act this time. Boman Irani was effective. Nawab Shah was impressive and stands apart. Kunal Kapoor was brief but good. Lara Dutta was sexy. Om Puri was apt. Alyy Khan was adequate. Hrithik in his cameo is appealing. Sahil Shroff was standard.

Plus points:

Cinematography
Locations
Screenplay
Second half

Minus points:

Weak content
Poor songs

Analysis:

The film happens to be a sequel to the original hit 'Don' and it has been packaged with more richness and style. The film takes off on a slow note and it is not until the interval bang that it really picks up. But it is the overall feel and the efforts put in to cover different countries. Moreover, with less content, the challenge was to engage the audience for two plus hours and it was successful to an extent. As such, there are not many riveting scenes but it gives a satisfying taste after the film ends. At the box office, the openings will be strong and given the hype, the film would land in profit zone.

Verdict: One time watcher..

Rajanna :Review

Romantic star Nagarjuna has been shifting genres and testing new waters ever since his kid Chaitanya turned hero. After Kedi and Gaganam, Nagarjuna has come up with periodic drama Rajanna, in which he is not seen on screen until one hour into the film. This is the biggest experiment a star hero can make, hugest risk a big star can take! Mind you, he is the producer of this film too. Did Nagarjuna's risk pay off? Did star writer Vijayendra Prasad prove to be a good director? Let's uncover the details...

Story:

The story is set in 1948, in Nelakondapalli village (Adilabad district). People of this village are suppressed by Dorasani (Swetha Menon). There lives a little girl Mallamma (Annie), who is the daughter of Rajanna (Nagarjuna). Rajanna is a brave fighter who fought against the British and also led Telangana people against the Nizam rule. Despite Rajanna's brave fight and death, Nelakondapalli is still in the evil clutches of Dorasani. Now Mallamma goes on a journey to meet the then Prime Minister Nehru to save her village from Dorasani's evil rule.

Performances:

Nagarjuna is decent as Rajanna. He did ham a bit here and there but has to be lauded for his guts to do such a movie and character. His star value plays a vital role in making this movie reach wider audience.

Child artiste Annie is terrific. What an actress she is. There isn't a single faltered expression. She should win National award for her performance. Sneha is alright in her brief yet noticeable role. Swetha Menon is the weak link in the movie. She failed to give the right expressions in each and every scene. Rest of the actors are aptly cast.

Technicalities:

Rajamouli canned a song-fight scene apart from giving his inputs to the action part. 'Vey Vey' song supervised by Rajamouli is the best part of the film. The emotions in the film reach peaks in this song. We feel like getting up and clap for this song. Great work from the master of emotions!

Keeravani has done one of his best works in this film. If not for him, Rajanna would have been ended up as a dud. Such is his contribution to it. Cinematography is neat. Editing is sharp. Production values are pretty good.

Vijayendra Prasad's direction is flawless except for the portions in the last half hour. He excelled as the writer though.

Analysis:

First things first, Rajanna is not a regular commercial cinema. It is pure art of cinema, which gives story the front seat against all the cliched formulas. If you are craving for masala and routine mass-commercial-silly-mindless-comedies, please stay out of watching it. This is not for people who go to movie to laugh off their two hours of time, munching popcorn and gulping cola.

Rajanna is for people who look for real cinematic experience. When the protagonist enters after one hour in to the movie, you are definitely not going to see usual cinema, isn't it? Director Vijayendra Prasad has done a very good job in building the drama and setting the conflict right. First hour of the film is filled with arresting drama and heart touching scenes on the kid. Right buildup is given for the entry of Rajanna. But have to admit that the introduction scene of Rajanna is dealt in a poor fashion.

Second hour of the film starts on a bright note. Rajanna's way of awakening villagers is the heart of the story. The movie goes on at a breath taking pace at this point. About thirty minutes of the film will be at peaks. Later the graph slides down and the climax scenes doesn't live up to the post interval scenes. If right care has been taken about the last fifteen minutes, Rajanna would have been a classic. Saying so, Rajanna is still a good film, which isn't to be missed by the audience who look for meaningful movies.

Keeravani is the hero of this film. Director Vijayendra Prasad banked on Keeravani and gave him complete freedom that the film is filled with numerous songs, lullabies and folk bits. Keeravani has done a fabulous job that we don't recognize there is no comedy in the film. We don't even feel the void that there is no 'hero' in the film for almost an hour, all because of Keeravani Sir!

Don't miss Rajanna if you are craving for a true Telugu film with lot of heart and soul. For once let us not think about the commercial outcome of the film and whistle out our hearts for true art of cinema. Hail Rajanna team!

Mahesh Facing Tough Competition From Venky

However, Mahesh Babu's Businessman is not going to have that much free time as it would face tough competition from Bodyguard, which will release a day after Businessman's release. The latest news is Venkatesh's Bodyguard is carrying positive reports from the industry circles.
