As we come to the end of a decade with December 31 of this month, a casual look at the track record of our Tollywood heroes is a regular work for Fans. Obviously, very high in esteem with the success of ‘Simha,’ balakrishna stands frontrunner to Numero Uno position but he delivered a meager three hits in this decade from 2000 to 2010. 
Yes, starting with ‘Narasimha Naidu’ in the direction of B. Gopal, the movie was such a massive hit which broke all the records of Tollywood. Struggling with serial debacles till 2004, Balayya gave a super hit ‘Lakshmi Narasimha’ with Jayant C Paranji. Then it took nearly five years for Balayya to comeback with stupendous ‘Simha’ in 2010 reestablishing the mass image in audience.
A normal observation of these three movies will affirm that Balayya loves only those titles which start or end with ‘Simha’ (Lion). Rightly he is the ‘Tollywood Lion of the Decade.’

Ram charan's new film

Producer Dil Raju movie with Mega Powerstar Ram Charan will begin in June next year. Vamsi Paidipally who gave a recent hit Brindavanam starring NTR will direct the movie.It will be produced under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Presently, Dil Raju is producing a film Mr Perfect starring Prabhas. It is directed by Dasarath.
Another Dil Raju movie Oh My Friend starring Siddharth will introduce a new director Venu Sriram. The movie will also star actor Nithin.

Ash talk about Rajini

'Chennai's special', says Endhiran actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was in the city recently... It's one thing to be anointed with the title of the most beautiful woman in the world and another to be hailed by the masses as someone who might just have deserved the same. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently breezed into Chennai for a blink-and-miss appearance. "Chennai is a very special city for me because I started my acting career from here," the actress tells TOI, "Last year, I spent maximum time here because of my work commitments of Raavan/Raavanan and Endhiran. I love to keep coming back to this city." The actress seemed like a feminine version of Rajini in the making, purely on basis of the mass-hysteria evoked by her entrance at a popular mall in the city. Addressing the almost deafening crowd, Ash, whose film career had steamrolled with mentors from Kollywood, said, "I love you all so much. Thank you for overwhelming me with such a magnificent welcome to your city. You guys are, hands down, one of the most gracious fans I have known and I couldn't be more grateful to have worked here." Ash's admirers thronged the premises by the hordes, waiting for a glimpse of her as she sashayed in, in an LBD, no less. So, what are her thoughts on working with Rajini and the response for Endhiran, which is her only hit this year? SRK returns to small screen with 'Zor Ka Jhatka'

Mumbai, Dec 17 (IANS) After hosting shows like 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (2007) and 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?' (2008), Bollywood 'badshah' Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make his small screen comeback with 'Zor Ka Jhatka' on Imagine TV. Known for his comic timing and trademark witty style, the star has claimed he will beat all competition on television by providing wholesome entertainment on the show, which is the Indian edition of internationally popular show 'Wipeout'. 'I'm looking forward to being a super funny host-commentator. In fact, my children and I have watched the international version often and really loved it. I am sure to 'Wipeout' all your worries and make you have loads of fun,' Shah Rukh told reporters at the launch here Friday. 'I am the 'badshah' of bedroom. Now people may say I am being vulgar, but the kind of entertainment I provide to my viewers enjoying in their bedrooms - no one else can,' he added, looking dapper in a black suit and a white shirt. Shah Rukh will take 28 TV stars out of their comfort zone to battle it out in an obstacle course set in Argentina. The participants on the show include Akashdeep Saigal, Amit Sareen, Ashima Bhalla, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Claudia Ciesla, Debina Bonnerjee, Gaurav Chopraa, Jennifer Winget, Karishma Tanna, Kushal Punjabi, Narayani Shastri, Natasha Suri, Payal Rohatgi, Priyadarshani Singh, Raja Chaudhary, Rohit Verma, Simran Kaur Mundi among others. They will be challenged by the star to a series of hilarious tasks. The prize money is worth Rs.1.5 crore, including a mega cash prize for the winner of the finale. Sameer Nair, CEO of Turner General Entertainment Networks India Pvt. Ltd., says the show will be a hit among all age groups. 'Simply put, it is an outstanding entertainer...something that the whole family can watch together. The combination of a super star host, bizarrely challenging obstacles, enthusiastic and competitive contestants and a whole lot of bloopers will make this show a must watch, night after night,' said Nair. The shooting will begin in Argentina in January.

Broadway's 'Spider-Man' opening delayed

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The opening of rocker Bono's $65 million "Spider-Man" musical was officially delayed again on Friday, with the show's creators due to change portions of the expensive production before its new opening on Feb. 7. It is the fourth time the show, which features music written by U2's Bono and The Edge, has been delayed after initial setbacks with financial problems and more recently performers suffering injuries and technical difficulties during previews. Its previous debut date was Jan. 11. "Due to some unforeseeable setbacks, most notably the injury of a principal cast member, it has become clear that we need to give the team more time to fully execute their vision," lead producer Michael Cohl said in a statement on Friday. "I have no intention of cutting a single corner in getting to the finish line." "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," Broadway's most expensive show ever, caught audiences by surprise in its first preview performance several weeks ago when its high-tech flying sequences became stuck, leaving its stars helplessly suspended mid-air. A spokesman for the show said Bono and The Edge were due to return to New York early in January as originally planned from their current world tour, but could not confirm reports that the pair were rewriting the end of the show, which is directed and co-written by Julie Taymor. Cohl said in the statement: "The creative team is implementing truly exciting changes throughout the preview process."

Geneva's "Merry Widow" operetta

GENEVA (Reuters Life!) - A new production in Geneva of "The Merry Widow" uses razor-sharp timing to bring out the humour, in a production so fresh it seems Franz Lehar's operetta was written only yesterday. Lehar's masterpiece premiered in 1905 in Vienna, in the twilight years of Emperor Franz Josef's Austro-Hungarian empire, and rapidly became a world hit. The tale of a small, peripheral European country tottering on the edge of bankruptcy, diplomatic leaks, and a political figure who prefers starlets and champagne to the serious business of statecraft has an undeniably contemporary feel. In Geneva's new production that opened on Dec. 14, German director Christof Loy develops the operetta's knockabout farce routines with discipline to highlight a comic plot of marital infidelity and love triumphing over pride. But by casting principals better known for serious roles, such as veteran Belgian bass-baritone Jose Van Dam as the hapless ambassador Baron Zeta, he also brings out the poetry of a classic tale of the war of the sexes. With its timeless melodies, energetic dance routines and blend of humour and drama, The Merry Widow points the way to the American musical comedies of the 20th century while building on the operettas of Jacques Offenbach and Johann Strauss. The story takes place at the embassy in Paris of the Grand Duchy of Pontevedro, a poverty-stricken Balkan principality which might just be based on Montenegro, and at the nearby house of a rich, young Pontevedrian widow. The plot involves an attempt by the ambassador to persuade widow Hanna Glawari, who has been left a fortune by her late banker husband, to marry a Pontevedrian to prevent her capital leaving the country. Hanna has her eye on a former sweetheart, the playboy diplomat Count Danilo, but he seems not to be interested. Loy updates the setting to the 1950s or 1960s, and the sets recall a hotel of the time in Yugoslavia or Czechoslovakia. "I wanted to create an indeterminate post-war period when those communist countries thought they could take on the world," he told Reuters. The operetta is performed in a mixture of German, French and English -- and even a little Serbian. The production pokes fun at the operetta's Ruritanian-style East European folklore, full of national dress and folk-dancing. But Lehar's pastiche Pontevedrian folksong "Vilja" has entered the repertoire of the world's great songs. And when Annette Dasch -- the statuesque German soprano playing the widow -- sings it, the laughter dies away as the audience listens to its tale of sexual passion and unrequited love, wrapped in one of Lehar's most seductive melodies. Mahesh as gudachari 116

If reports are to be believed, Prince Mahesh Babu has given the nod to act in Billa fame Meher Ramesh's new film, which will be a remake of Gudachari 116 (1967), starring Mahesh Babu's father superstar Krishna as a spy. The movie, produced by RR Movie Makers, is expected to hit floors in May 2011. Notably, Gudachari 116 was the first even spy film in Telugu. Later, many sequels were made on the lines of Gudachari 116 with Krishna in the lead and all of them earned tremendous success at the box office. Next

Balayya new project

After his last project Arundhati (2009), Tollywood's hit maker Kodi Ramakrishna is gearing up to commence the production work of his next project. According to sources, his new film will star veteran Balakrishna in the lead. Notably, Kodi Ramakrishna has given several super hits in Balakrishna's career like Mangamma Gari Manavadu, Muddula Krishnayya, Muvvagopaludu and Muddula Mavayya. Kodi Ramakrishna's film will go to sets once Balakrishna completes his ongoing projects Parama Veera Chakra and Sri Rama Rajyam.

Salman v/s katrina

Salman's READY is all set to clash with Katrina Kaif's ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA at the box office. This recent development had shocked the industry as one had never expected this 'once in love' couple to be fighting it out commercially. Says an industry observer, "One knew that READY was progressing well towards completion but there was never a hint thrown around its release plans. On the other hand the release date of ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA was announced weeks ago and it was always going to be 27th May. However, with Salman bringing his READY on the same date, it is nothing short of a major clash." While ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA is touted to be a fun youthful film with a cast comprising of Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, READY is a family entertainer where Asin is Salman's co-star. "Thankfully both the films seem to be targeting different audience base, otherwise it must have been a calamity", says another insider, "Knowing the sensibility of Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar, ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA is expected to be more urban centric and would be targeting the multiplexes. On the other hand READY brings director Anees Bazmee and Salman together again after NO ENTRY and they would be looking at masses to be bringing in moolah." Still, even though the target audience could be different for both films, one wonders if it was inevitable for Salman to clash with Katrina. After all in an industry where friends don't quite step over each other's feet when it comes to commerce, it is doubtful if Salman didn't have any issues whatsoever to bring his film on the same day

Ram charan bday gift to rana

To rub the icing from the cake on the face is a fun in birthday parties which most of the youngsters and children follow this as tradition. And this is what has happened on Tuesday night at Rana's birthday party. His close friend Ram Charan Tej visited his place with a big cake. No doubt Rana got his birthday wishes from his pal, but along with it he also got yet another gift, i.e., after feeding a piece of cake to Rana, Charan rubbed the cream all over his face and brought smiles to everyone's face around including the birthday boy. Rana later thanked him for making his birthday a day that he will never forget!

Shakti final shoot

The latest movie of NTR Shakti is progressing at a brisk pace. The crew finished a schedule succesfully at Badami and Hampi. Some important scenes were pictured at those places. Sources say that the next schedule will be in Hyderabad. A special set has been erected for this reason. Climax scenes will be pictured on the set. Movie sources say that those scenes will be attractive and will be loved by all NTR fans. K.Aswini Dutt is producing the movie under his prestigious banner Vyjayanthi Movies. Meher Ramesh who earlier did Kantri with NTR is directing Shakti. He said that he is portraying NTR in a different shade. Bollywood actors Jackie Shroff and Puja Bedi are playing significant roles in this movie.

Nagavalli final report

History Revived 'Nagavalli' is a continuation of the story of the popular Kollywood film 'Chandramukhi' which had hit theaters in the year 2005 and had later been dubbed for the Tollywood industry. Therefore this is reason enough for viewers to visit theaters playing 'Nagavalli' over the weekend. Needless to say there were huge expectations resting on 'Nagavalli' and going by the initial reactions, the film has been able to meet them. The story of 'Nagavalli' revolves around a family living in the historical South Indian city of Mysore. All is well with them before a portrait of goddess Nagavalli falls into their lap. The members of the family start experiencing unnatural problems from this time onwards and it is through these problems that the horror element of the film comes out. The family has to now take the help of a magician and a psychiatrist, both of whom are played by actor Venkatesh. The mystery is unveiled as 'Nagavalli' reaches its climax. Venkatesh is very impressive in both his avatars in 'Nagavalli'. Though he is surrounded by so many girls, Venkatesh does not get the opportunity to romance them which comes as a disappointment to the audience. Nevertheless, we become well aware about the historical significance of the character Nagavalli and the story too is captivating. It is the screenplay of the film which gets a special round of applause.

Hansika and genilia bonding

When two heroines work together in a movie, it's assumed that catfights are inevitable. But these two girls seem to be sharing good vibes with each other. Hansika had seen the recently-released Telugu flick Orange, which has Genelia, Shahzahn Padamsee and Ram Charan Teja in the lead, and was impressed with the film. She tweeted, "Saw Orange and I thought that Charan was superb! Genelia was nice too... I enjoyed the movie." Even at the movie launch of Velayudham, Gen and Hans, as their fans call them, spent a lot of time together, gushing and laughing about things.

Nagavalli censored

Victory Venkatesh's much-awaited Nagavalli has completed Censor formalities. The film was awarded 'A' certificate by the Censor Board without a single cut. The film is now set to grace screens on Thursday (December 16). Nagavalli, directed by P. Vasu, is the remake of super hit Kannada film Apta Rakshaka. Bellamkonda Suresh is producing the film under the banner of Sri Sai Ganesh Productions. The film stars five heroines: Anushka, Kamalini Mukherjee, Shraddha Das, Poonam Kaur and Richa Gangopadhyay. Music is composed by Guru Kiran, cinematography by Shyam K. Naidu, dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers and editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh.

Pawan and Mahesh surprise everyone

To everybody's surprise, top Tollywood stars Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu, who usually maintain a low profile by staying away from all events in the film industry, turned up for the confidential meeting held on Monday at a star hotel in Madhapur to find a solution to the ongoing strike. Several top stars, directors and producers, including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, Ram and Jr. NTR attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the meeting ended in chaos after actors blamed directors for the delay in film shoots and refused to accept producers' demands like cut in remuneration, increase in working hours, etc. However, some actors and producers feel the strike was inevitable as there are many long-pending issues in the industry that need to be resolved. In a bid to save the industry from the current crisis, representatives of Film Chamber proposed a committee to look into all the concerned issues. We will form a committee with three directors, stars and producers to form new guidelines on script, budgets and timing. We will try and release movies for now as it is a crucial month for film business. The crew now will have to work overtime to make up for the lost time and we will be back on track, said Vijandar Reddy, member of AP Film Chamber of Commerce.

After Baanam, Nara Rohit has sighed his second film. Paruchuri Prasad will produce the film on the banner United Movies. Hansika will pair with Nara Rohit. Prakash Tholeti is director of the movie. E v v's "Pamba lakidi jamba"

E.V.V.Satyanarayana had made a film titled Jamba Lakidi Pamba, which went onto become a huge laugh riot and a box office success story. It is now heard that the director is planning to make a sequel to this film. Allari Naresh is expected to star in the sequel, which is tentatively titled 'Pamba Lakidi Jamba'! Maganti Babu, who earlier made a movie, titled Pranam with Allari Naresh, is expected to produced this movie. Even though Pranam failed to make an impact at the box office, it is heard that Maganti Babu is keen to make a come back into films. Ntr pairs with malaika

Junior NTR who kept himself away from brand ambassadors all these years finally jumped the endorsement bandwagon. The actor is Zandu Balm's brand ambassador for Andhra Pradesh while Tamil Superstar Suriya is endorsing Zandu in Tamil Nadu.   Bollywood's favourite item girl Malaika Arora Khan whose 'Munni Badnaam Huyi' was a rage in 'Dabanngg' is endorsing Zandu in north. The balm brand got popular as it was used in the lyrics in 'Munni' song and so the brand decided to make Malaika their ambassador. Jr NTR, Suriya and Malaika got together in Mumbai recently to shoot advertisement for the brand which will go on air soon. The Telugu version of ad will have both NTR and Malaika in it and the ad sequence was shot by Senthil who was the cinematographer for 'Magadheera'.

AR rahman braces for second golden

Its all music to ears for composer A R Rahman as he braces himself to win his second Golden Globe after being nominated in the Best Original Score category for his music in the Danny Boyle directed film 127 HOURS. The highly-acclaimed singer-composer had won his first Golden Globe in 2009 in the same category for SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, a movie based around Mumbai. The 'Mozart of Madras' had also won two Oscars for his score in SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE at the 2009 Oscars. The soundtrack of the James Franco-starring 127 HOURS, based on a heroic real-life experience of mountain climber Aron Ralston, was received well by critics. Said to have been recorded within three weeks in London, the soundtrack includes 'If I Rise', a long-awaited collaboration between Rahman and British singer Dido. The nominations to the coveted award were announced on Tuesday. Rahman faces a tough fight from Alexandre Desplat who was nominated for THE KING'S SPEECH, Danny Elfman who was nominated for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who were jointly nominated for THE SOCIAL NETWORK and Hans Zimmer who has won more than a nod for his score in INCEPTION.

Ash dreams

Once known to be one of the leading lights in parallel cinema and the man who has made some memorable movies right from Ankur, Nishant, Manthan, Bhumika and Mandi, Shyam Benegal is grappling with the very idea of casting big stars in his movies. First he wanted to cast Urmila Matondkar in his desi version of Carmen with AR Rahman's music. But the film fizzled out as he had no takers for the cast. Priyanka Chopra was to step in to the said role with Sanjay Gupta backing the film. But Gupta backed out as well. And then it was to be Aishwarya Rai , but that plan too failed. But it does seem that the filmmaker now wants to revive the project with Ash. But after Ash has had three flops in a row barring the hit Robot, thanks only to Rajnikanth, we wonder whether any project with her too will get any buyers, more so for Shyambabu who is not known for making commercial hits. And if Ash still has her price in the Rs 5 crore range, that would even be a difficult proposition. But then we wish the twain do work together in a mutually beneficial manner to enable us see them rock again.

Anil plans to work with top stars

Anil Sharma has been toying with making three films now. He's basically waiting for any actor to give him the nod to start a film soon. He has spoken to Aamir Khan to work in his film. Aamir has liked the script and has told Anil that the film will be made the way he wants it to and the director has agreed. In the meantime, Salman is another actor who Anil has approached to do a film with. This film will be produced by Boney Kapoor and will go on the floors in a while. Thirdly, Anil has now spoken to Abhishek Bachchan as well apart from Abhishek's Drona and Bluffmaster co star Priyanka Chopra . Anil had given Priyanka the big break by casting her in his film

Nenu naa rakshashi to be released on jan 14th

The shooting of Nenu Naa Rakshasi has been completed today. Starring Rana and Ileana, the movie unit has been in Thailand for their final schedule. Nenu Naa Rakshasi is directed by Puri Jagannath, and produced by Nallamalapu Srinivas. This will be the second movie for Rana, and also the second time Puri Jagannath teams up with Ileana. Nenu Naa Rakshasi is expected to be an out and out Telugu entertainer. Music for Nenu Naa Rakshasi has been given by Vishal – Sekhar who earlier worked for Venkatesh's Chintakayala Ravi. Cinematography is done by Amol Rathod of Rakta Charitra fame. The audio is expected to be released next week and the movie on January 14th.

Southern Stud Siddartha and Shruthi Hassan starring socio fantasy flick 'Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu' is creating sensation in Tollywood after its first look trailer release. Confirming that on Twitter ,he has tweeted that "So many news items about my film with Prabhas for which I myself don't know what the story is going to be, yet. I am  certainly NOT doing 'Viswamithra'. I don't know the budget because I don't know the story and we haven't signed Samantha for two films at all". Our Tollywood is going through severe crisis and entire industry has come to a sudden shut down with no activity in progress from last five days. Workers, artists and technicians took to the route of indefinite industry bandh finding solutions for various problems that are degrading the lives and standards of Tollywood.

Even the post production activities of to be released 'Nagavalli' are also known to have affected by this crisis yet there is one movie which is going as per the plan and it is 'Parama Veera Chakra.' dasari narayana rao known as most respected and legendary cinema personality seems to have shown no concern for ongoing industry crisis as he has confidentially parceled the entire team of 'Parama Veera Chakra' to Thailand for shooting of songs. Though many of the seniors in industry are feared to question Dasari but insiders say that 'rules' doesn't apply for Dasari and his movies because he is a 'Monarch.'

Although Power Star pawan kalyan and Mahesh Babu are top stars of Tollywood, they are mostly known for reserved style of living. Never have we seen these two Super Stars attending the cinema related functions, events or film industry meetings. In this context, pawan kalyan and Mahesh Babu gave a shock to media members by making their presence at the secret meet of Tollywood Heroes and Directors.

The ongoing crisis in the Tollywood which had its roots from fighting between Telugu and Tamil Fighters Associations has taken a different form and the subject is now diverted to the role of Heores, Producers, and Directors in controlling the increasing budgets of movies. A confidential meeting of Heroes and Directors was conducted last night in a Star Hotel and media was taken by a surprise with the attendance of Pawan and Mahesh in this meeting.

Sources say that, pawan kalyan reacted furiously against the proposal by a Producer to ban the dubbing movies in Tollywood. All the top heroes of industry including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Prabhas, Junior NTR, Ramcharan, Allu Arjun, Raviteja attended the meet.

Jwala wants to work with prabhas

The beautiful badminton player Jwala Gutta, who married her couch Chetan Anand, recently separates from him because of disputes. During a chat show with leading Telugu News Channel, she said that, she is a great fan of handsome hero Prabhas. She said if any producer come forward offering her a role against her dream boy Prabhas she loves to do it!

An innocent girl who joined as a beautician in a massage centre has been trapped in a cold blooded murder case that takes place inside the massage centre. The girl has no option except to prove her innocence at any cost. How did she overcome this horrifying case is the rest of the story of film 'Mallika Massage Centre,' a dubbed version of Hindi film.

Avinash, Mallika, Salim and Suma played the lead roles in this film. Rasool Alam directed this film and Mahipal Reddy and SV Ramana are the producers of the Telugu version. They said that, it is a suspense film topped with some romance. The film is slated to release on 25th of this month. Producers said that, they are planning to release the film in Tamil version also, after releasing the Telugu version.

Deepika Padukone, who has been hugely responsible for many men suffering from insomnia and other such 'hailments', is now all set to work her charm once again, this time with her gyrating moves in Rohan Sippy's Dum Maaro Dum. Deepika, despite, not being the leading lady of the film, will be seen doing a scintillating item number for the film, on the remix version of the infamous song 'Dum Maaro Dum'. The song has been composed by Pritam.Rohan, who is apparently very excited to have Deepika on board, said that the song will have a contemporary feel to it, and that they will be shooting it next week.  Dum Maaro Dum, which stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubatti is scheduled for release in April 2011.

Actress Priyamani's female oriented film titled Kshetram shooting presently going on brisk pace in and around Hyderabad. It seems rumours about Shankar's 3 Rascals are never going to end! The latest speculation doing the rounds is that Rakta Charitra star Surya, who has a huge fan base in Telugu and Tamil, has replaced Mahesh Babu and Vijay in both the versions of 3 Idiots remake.

According to reports, Mahesh Babu and Vijay have walked out of Shankar's project. So, to fill their slots, the makers of 3 Rascals have opted to go with one hero who can reach out to both Telugu and Tamil audiences.

Surya's name has been in the cards from the day Gemini Circuit bought the remake rights. But later Mahesh Babu and Vijay were approached and they had also shown interest to do the project. Now, as they have reportedly opted out of the project, the story on Surya has again started doing the rounds.

It is interesting to note that Surya's blockbuster Ghajini was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan. Both the versions were superhit and critics didn't stop from comparing them. Now, if Surya can pull off 3 Idiots remake, we will get a better picture to measure the actors.

Telugu audiences are very clever and they can judge the movie by quality but not by the media publicity. Unmoved by the negative propaganda on the film, 'orange' amassed Rs.8 Crores in Nizam area alone and to be specific A class audience are still loving the movie for its innovative story line, modern and trendy picturization. Alone in Hyderabad, 'orange' is still going more than 20 theatres with full houses in weekends and the same repeated even in Bangalore and overseas. Overall collection figures after two weeks stand somewhere in between Rs. 25 to 28 Crores. If result of a movie is adjudged based on the acceptance from a section of audience, 'orange' can be declared a decent hit. If Naga Babu still calls it a loss making venture, then fault lies in his perceptions about budget and financial calculations.

Director ramgopal varma got harsh treatment from Vijayawada localites today when he went to the temple town for attending the Alumni meeting of his own Siddhartha Engineering College. As we know that Lagadapati Rajagopal and Varma were batch mates of the same college, that was a grand get together arranged in the college.

Gracing the occasion, Varma revealed the plan about his next project 'Bezawada Rowdeelu' and sang the title song before the gathering. Some of the Vijayawada localites upset by the movie title have thrown eggs targeting Varma but they have missed by a whisker. Very soon, security arrangements were upgraded at the College premises.

'I am ready to change the title of 'Bezawada Rowdeelu,' if serious demands arise. This movie will deal with local gang wars in Vijayawada and major part of the shooting will be commenced here in Siddhartha Engineering College. You will see Vijayawada as most powerful city ever witnessed. If our Principal of College gives me the permission, then I am ready to make most of the movie here in the College premises itself,' said Varma.

Fight continues between film industries

It was reported earlier that serious incident occurred between Telugu and Tamil fighters on the sets of Kandireega featuring Ram and Hansika in lead roles.In this regard, Telugu Film Producers Council has called off shootings yesterday and urged an emergency meeting with Film Chamber members. But now cancellation of shootings, seems to continue for few more days as the issue is not solved. Yesterday, Producers Council members and Film Chamber Members invited A P Film Employees Federation Members on behalf of fighters for the meeting. But the federation members not attended the meeting instead of it sent them a letter raising up the old issues to be solved. Thus, there was no development so far. Talking to media D Suresh Babu said "We invited Federation Council members for the meeting but there was no proper response from them. We will discuss about it in another meeting". Allu Aravind, Shyam prasad reddy, Dil Raju, Teja, C Kalyan, K L Narayna and Nallamalapu Bujji attended the meeting. Due to cancellation of shootings, it may affect on movies which are slated for release in December and January.

HMK feels that the song hurts the sentiments of Hindus. The song tells about woman's desire. It also contains God's names like Aranganathar and Sri Varalakshmi. Ntr shakti final schedule

NTR Jr's film Shakti has completed its shooting at locations across Ladakh, Jaipur, Haridwar, Kulu Manali, Hampi, Badami and Egypt. The final schedule of shooting will start at Annapoorna Studios. The film is being produced by C. Ashwini Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies and directed by Meher Ramesh. The music has been composed by Mani Sarma. Ileana is the heroine while Manjari Fadnis plays an important role. The star cast includes Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, Prabhu Ganesan, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood and Pooja Bedi.

Well, the maverick film-maker may declare that the story he wanted to narrate concluded when Surya [Surya] assassinates Pratap [Vivek Oberoi] in Rakta Charitra 2, but looks like the film-maker has left the options open for the third installment of Rakta Charitra. For those who haven't watched the film, the last sequence depicts Vivek's new-born watching Surya on a news channel, soon after Vivek has been assassinated. Of course, we are well aware that Rakta Charitra is inspired by a real-life story and there's no scope for the story to continue further, but RGV could spin a yarn - a work of fiction - whereby Vivek's new-born grows up to seek revenge. However, RGV dismisses the talk, when quizzed about the third installment. Incidentally, there's talk that RGV and South superstar Surya are planning to work together in another project, which will be directed by a top notch Telugu film-maker. It's said that RGV will present this film.

Jr.NTR's undershoot film 'Shakti' seems to be creating record to be shot at highest number of places in Telugu cinema. The film was shot in places like Ladakh, Jaipur, Haridwar, Kullu Manali , Hampi, Badami, Egypt and of course in and around Hyderabad. The film has wrapped up its schedule at Hampi and Badami yesterday and is gearing up for its final schedule at Annapoorna Studios. Ileana is playing the NTR's lady love in the film. Shakti is directed by Meher Ramesh of 'Kantri' and 'Billa' fame and produced by Ashwini Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner. Ashwini dutt reported that he has not produced any Telugu movie in the past 35 years as lavishly as NTR's 'Shakti'. The producer opined that 'Shakti' will become a milestone for the whole team.
